MY SECRET IS OUT:   “Glutathione is the Secret Weapon of Mass Destruction.”  However, as explained in my previous blog post, glutathione is not easily supplemented in the diet if needed, without an intravenous (IV) administration.

Who has the time or money to do that?  Of course, as also explained in this last blog post, it’s best to first test to make sure you are even deficient in glutathione before supplementing.

There has to be a better whey!

And guess what?  There is!

As explained in the second blog post of this series about glutathione, we must take every measure to prevent glutathione from being damaged by the toxins in our environment that we are exposed to everyday.

In addition, we must get adequate PRECURSORS to glutathione.

What are precursors?

Precursors are the elements that are actually needed so the body can make its own glutathione.  As first mentioned here, glutathione is created from three amino acids that we get from the diet:  cysteine, glycine and glutamic acid.  It has recently been reported that:

“Whey” protein is the ideal supplement to replenish glutathione by boosting the amino acid, cysteine.

Whey protein has also been shown to reduce the “hunger” hormone, ghrelin, which aides in weight loss.

In addition, whey protein is a natural ACE inhibitor (a type of blood pressure medication, like lisinopril), so a healthy blood pressure is also promoted with the use of whey protein.

Remember that all whey protein products are not created equal. Whey protein powder found on the supermarket and nutrition store shelves are loaded with sugar and chemicals, and you can’t always be sure of the quality of the protein source.

You absolutely want to be assured that you are purchasing “organic” whey protein powder that comes from grass-fed cows and is completely free of pesticides, hormones, genetically modified organisms, artificial sweeteners and is gluten-free.

The whey protein must be cold-pressed since heat destroys whey’s fragile molecular structure, and be from whey protein concentrate, not protein isolates. It should also be highly digestible, so look for products that contain medium chain fatty acids (MCTs) like the products I have posted below (not long-chain fatty acids).

All of these great products can be found in the virtual dispensary.  Let me know if I can assist you with your order or for anything else you might need.
