Infra-Red Sauna
It is now well-established that the Sun’s far-infrared (FIR) energy spectrum is the safest and most beneficial frequency of natural sunlight.
Think about all that the Sun’s energy does to enrich our health and well-being:
Directly: we are nourished by the stimulation of sunlight
Indirectly: we are nourished by eating foods,
drinking fluids and breathing air that the Sun has vitalized.
We are dependent on the Sun’s energy for our life. The FIR energy of the Sun has the potential to generate amazing therapeutic effects on our health, including improved circulation, enhanced natural detoxification, and even a reinforcement of the immune system. This heat energy can deliver healing relief for joint and muscle pain and inflammation, enhance cardiovascular function, lower cholesterol, revitalize skin cells, emulsify fat, increase metabolic rate and curtail the spread of infection.
Unfortunately, there is just no way we can get all of these benefits by being outside in the Sun, without the dangerous radiation that comes with it. But the good news is that a FIR sauna is very easily accessible to you.
Infrared Sauna Therapy is An Investment in Your Health!
Infrared sauna is like sitting under the sun. Infrared saunas are using the same type of radiant heat as the sun. This radiant heat is safe and is a natural form of deep penetrating, long lasting heat that is easily absorbed directly into our muscles. Compared to a traditional sauna, only the surface of the skin is heated and these saunas can be hard to breath in. The heat from an infrared sauna lasts for over one and half times longer than the actual applied treatment, and does not generate any harmful EMFs (electromagnetic fields). This radiant heat resonates at the same level as the water molecules in our body and thus triggers a cellular level of purging of stored toxins, giving you a much more intense sweat than a traditional sauna.
By regularly raising our core temperature by a degree or two, hormesis is created. Hormesis is the good kind of stress. Hormesis improves our immune system and strengthens our cardiovascular system and also increases the healing in our muscles and joints. When you put yourself in a state of hormesis, once a day or as often as you can, your whole body becomes stronger and more adaptive. Additionally, you are actively burning out avert cells (e.g. cancerous growth, bacteria, fungus, viruses and yeast) (23).
Overall, Infrared saunas have two major benefits:
1) The user produces a river of sweat; and
2) The rays impart actual nutrients that we require to be healthy. And of course, these two benefits impart incredible other health benefits. In fact, there are over 100 disease states proven by studies that have been alleviated with sauna use. Let’s discuss a few of these below (click each link to learn more).

Sunlighten offers all three peak wavelengths for the maximum therapeutic results.
Infrared sauna therapy is an investment in your health. Daily sauna sessions can provide you with a longer life, more energy and a highly effective way to detox your body. With a sauna in your life, every day you will fell better and enjoy long-term health.
Things to Look for In a Sauna:
Infrared sauna is the best way to get that “river of sweat” comfortably. It’s crucial that you sweat to get the benefits. If you don’t sweat, it is not the right sauna, and if it is too miserable for you to sweat, you won’t want to do it. Infrared heat gets you to that “river of sweat” without you being uncomfortable.
Problems with other type of saunas are:
- Heats the room and skin
- Hard to breathe (steam)
- Can create mold/grow bacteria
You will want to use a sauna that is low in radiation and has “full spectrum,” not just NEAR, and not just FAR infrared. You will also want the sauna to reach a therapeutic heat of over 160 degrees. That’s because it is at this temperature that the “river of sweat” is produced, where core body temperature is raised, where the production of heat shock proteins are produced and where the immune response is mobilized.
Infrared Protocols:
Use daily for a minimum of 30-45 minutes at 120-125 degree F for the first two weeks, then 125-135 degree F for the next two weeks.
Drink 8-16 ounces of water before and after each sauna session. Once a week add a few drops of trace minerals to your water supply.
